Art Deco Trio

This week I'm joining in with Teacup Tuesday, hosted by Martha and Terri and I've opted to show off  one of my simplest trios.   No gilding in sight and the decoration is not particularly ornate but the clean lines, the shape of the handle and the colour scheme caught my eye.



This little set also has a claim on me that none of my others do - it was made by J.H. Cope & Co under  Wellington China and since Cope is my surname I have a special affection for it! 




I know little about J.H. Cope & Co besides that they were based in Longton and went out of business in 1946 but I'd love to pick up more of their pieces in the future.

    oooh i'm in love!! lovely pattern on the teacup! i just love the blue flower on it, the branch/tree and a little fence i see? on the saucer, it adds cuteness on it!!

    Gorgeous. As you know I am a bit partial to art deco. I love the squared off shape of the side plate that is such a feature of the 30s.

    Jem, your beautiful cup is so lovely! Clean and well designed. The flowers are the prettiest shade of blue. I have not heard of this company either. At least you know it was created before 1946.
