I've had a few of you email/comment over the last few months to ask why I haven't yet popped a photo of myself on my profile or in the sidebar . . . . well if I'm completely honest I'm very camera shy! There aren't many pictures of me in existence and generally speaking, those that do exist I despise, except this one. It was taken on a rainy, blustery day in Whitby - the sort that soaks you through then dries you off with gusts of wind, the fella and I were both admiring the Abbey and he snapped me unawares. In fact it was the same day I found the Beautifully Battered Box I posted about a few months ago. Admittedly my hair is all over the shop and the mean wind has left my face a bit weatherbeaten but it actually looks like me whereas most pictures don't because I'm too busy looking uncomfortable.
Right - now I think you lot should post the odd snap of yourselves too! :-P
Hope your Thursday weather has been as beautiful as it is here in the Peaks,
Jem xXx
its a gorgeous picture!somehow I imagined youd be a brunette butnow it makes sense you're a blonde!x
ReplyDeleteYou write in a captivating fashion , it really draws you in ,nice to put a face to the clever creator of your lovely blog xx
ReplyDeleteawww Jem, so good to have a sneaky peak of you! Its a fabulous picture! Scarlett x
ReplyDeleteYey for a picture! I use to be very shy when it came to posting pictures all over my blog mostly because people "in real life" don't know I have a blog and don't know anything about what I do or the things I write about - most of its a secret hehe
ReplyDeleteOh Jem, you look lovely! But I'm with you on this one, I was only thinking today that I must put a pic of myself on my blog to make it more personal, but I HATE having my picture taken! Well done you for being brave xxxxx
ReplyDeleteOh Jem you've got the same coloured hair as my Annabel! Sorry but there wont be any photos of me in the near future! I freeze when a camera is pointed in my direction!
ReplyDeleteJem it is a lovely photograph. I understand where you are coming from. I hate having my photo taken. I'm usually the one BEHIND the camera.
ReplyDeleteLove your pic! The only photo of me that I liked enough to put on my blog was taken when I was about 8! But its funny how we get a mental image of people before we know what they are actually like!

The picture is great, i love it! these are the best photos when the person being snapped is unaware, more natural :)
ReplyDeleteBee happy x
Have a delicious day!
I love pictures like this. So natural. But not enough of your face! I used to hate having my picture taken - in fact sometimes I still do unless I can be in complete control. Having my picture taken for the blog has helped me.
ReplyDeleteyou have a great blog
ReplyDeletefollow you!
I invite you to visit my blog, and if you like it, you can follow me too :)

i love the picture!! if you were this lovely taken unaware sideways and half covered, you must be beautiful taken uncovered! come on, dont be shy! hehe but ...i can understand, I have to admit i am not as what i've shown in my pics, it takes a few photo editor to make my self portraits abit presentable, i have to take like more than 30 shots of myself and only 1 would turned out ok, then goes into the photo editor, a little tweak here and there hahahaha..but your unaware photo is soo natural and beautiful!! love ya, Jem! xx Susan
ReplyDeletePhotographs taken when you're unaware are the best. I have no idea what I really look like. When I look in the mirror it is too change how I look or check I am not plastered in toothpaste. In photographs I never look the same twice, even on the same day.
ReplyDeleteJem you look windswept and interesting ....and totally gorgeous! You are right, it is nice to have a face to put to the name! X
ReplyDeleteCompletely understand.... I have a shop and I am a French Chair......!!! But soon, I will come out by the way you look great!!!!! Maryanne;)
ReplyDeleteThank youu so much for the gifts you sent, Jem! i got it on Saturday!! love it sooo much! xx Susan
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your style of writing - it's really lovely, as is the picture! x
ReplyDeleteLove the picture..so natural and honest. It is lovely to put(half)a face to the writing, lol,xx
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of you! I can't bear my photo been taken, as I am so critical of myself when I see it- the best photos are the ones when you are so happy you whole face beams! X
ReplyDeleteGreat picture, lots of life in it unlike posed ones!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! I think these types of photos are much more candid and beautiful then if you had posed.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's a very lovely picture beautifully and artistically framed, perfectly capturing your day. I so very much enjoyed all the tea goodies you sent, they were the perfect stash to take with me on my long get-away. THANK YOU!!! It's good to be back (and back on line). Thank you for your visit and sweet comment. Not sure when I'll reinstate the tea swap, I still have so much that needs my attention right now, but it's all good.
