The Little Things

I ♡ the end of day feeling I get from seeing chairs like this, or stacked on top of tables.  I like watching people close up shop - wiping down tables, counting change, flipping the closed sign before they run a hoover round to whisk away the footprints of the day.

Homemade sloe gin in a lovely bottle with a witty label.  It was T's birthday yesterday, friends came over and took us to dinner on Wednesday evening before we all came back to chat away and sip some of this delicious rocket fuel.

  1. I remember always having to put our school chair on top of the table so the cleaners could clean under the tables - weirdly brought back a happy memory.

  2. Ooooh, sloe gin ... you've just reminded me I have a bottle downstairs in the cupboard - think I might treat myself to a glass or two this evening! x

  3. I used to work in a clothes shop on a Saturday. The feeling I got locking the last customers out was wonderfu! We would crank up the radio and whiz around with the Hoover, polish and mop.
Now I could just MURDER a drop of that gin, though I'd probably over-do it and make myself ill.

    Have a lovely weekend,

    Lucy x

  10. yes i love that time of day, when i can turn the closed sign over and start on the clearing up. Although, there are times when people don't see the closed sign, or me stacking chairs...and still try coming in half an hour after i've shut. grrrrr.
